Children & puppies

Prepare the young members of the household on pet care. Children should learn not only to love their pets but to respect them and treat them with consideration one would give all living things. It must be explained to young children that the puppy has certain needs, just like people have. All family members must take an active role to ensure these needs are met. Someone must take him for a walk a couple of times a day or clean up his training paper. Someone must groom his coat, clean his ears, and clip his nails from time to time. Someone must see he gets sufficient exercise and attention each day.

When we teach our children the proper way to care and handle their puppy not only
do our children enjoy the time but their puppy also enjoys the child.

No squeezing, teasing, irritation, or choking the puppy.
This could lead to death for the puppy.

Children need to learn the proper way to gently stroke and love their puppy.

Their puppy should be carefully picked up and supported with both hands.
Place one hand under the chest, between his front legs, and the other hand supporting his
rear end will be comfortable and will restrain the animal as you hold and carry him.
